Recently everyone should have received a notice to respond to the Census survey. It really only takes a couple of minutes to do. This response is very important for the State of WV and our smaller cities. Our representation is based off of the Census numbers. Please take the time to fill out your response. We need to count every Citizen. All of the northern panhandle Cities and Towns have turned it into a competition to see who can get the largest percentage of responses. Let’s show them what Follansbee is made of.
Trick Or Treat – Saturday October 31st from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Fall Cleanup – Week of Monday October 26th thru Friday October 30th during regular Garbage pickup Day.
This is a message from the City of Follansbee. Many of our customers have inquired about the status of delinquent utility bills. The Public Service Commission has put out a memo instructing utility companies to allow for time to pay without terminating service because of the health issues.
The City of Follansbee will not be terminating anyone’s water service at this time. While this pandemic is going on, we realize the public has a need for uninterrupted water, sewer and garbage service and will do our part to make that happen.
There are agencies that have committed to assisting with utility payments whether they are water, gas or electric. If you find yourself in a position of need please reach out to them. If you need information on them, please call our office and we can provide some names. We will still put reminder calls out advising that we have not received a payment so don’t be alarmed if you get one of those calls.
Stay safe and let’s hope there is a quicker end to this pandemic.
The Follansbee Light Up Night Committee is sponsoring a canned goods drive for Follansbee Reach. Donations will be accepted at the City Building now through Dec. 4th at Light up Night. All donations will be very much appreciated. Please help to make everyone’s Christmas a little merrier. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
